We All Need a Little Art and a Creative Community
Have you ever felt like you lost touch with that playful, curious part of yourself? The part that loved to color outside the lines, scribble on the edges of your notebooks, or make something just because?
Somewhere along the way — between deadlines, laundry, and trying to be “productive” adults — many of us quietly put our creative sides on a shelf. We told ourselves we’re not “real artists,” or we convinced ourselves that making art had to look a certain way to be worth doing.
But here’s the thing: creativity isn’t just about making something pretty to hang on the wall. It’s a lifeline. A gentle act of coming back to ourselves. It’s a chance to quiet the noise of the world and listen to our own inner voice — the one that might have been whispering all along, “Hey… let’s play.”
When we create, we remember what it feels like to be present. Even just ten minutes of painting or doodling can shift our entire energy. It doesn’t have to be perfect, polished, or even finished. In fact, the messier, the better. The goal isn’t to “get good” — it’s to get free.
I know how hard it can be to make time for this. We tell ourselves we’ll start when life slows down, when we’re less tired, when we have more space. But the truth is, there’s never a perfect moment. Creativity lives in the tiny windows: scribbling on a sticky note, splashing watercolor for five minutes before dinner, or coloring in a notebook while you’re on hold.
Over the years, I’ve realized that art isn’t just something I do — it’s how I come home to myself. And I don’t want to keep that experience to myself anymore.
That’s why I’ve been dreaming up a safe, cozy online community. A place where we can all show up exactly as we are, no matter what we’re working on or where we’re at in our creative journey. A place to share our scribbles, our messy pages, our unexpected wins. A place to feel encouraged and to encourage each other.
And today, I’m so excited (and honestly a little nervous!) to finally share it with you: I’ve started a Patreon membership. I imagine it as a warm, welcoming space where we can explore art together — without judgment or perfectionism — and truly connect through thoughtful interaction. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a pencil since childhood, you’re invited.
As a founding member, you’ll help shape this community from the very start. You’ll get to be part of the very first small circle, the cozy campfire where we gather and grow. Founding members will always hold a special place, and your support will help me continue creating and sharing more with you.
Whether or not you join, my deepest hope is that you find one tiny moment this week to create — even if it’s messy, silly, or just for you. Because those little sparks? They’re what keep us glowing.
💛 Stephanie
P.S. If you feel like this is something you’ve been missing, you can learn more and become a founding member [here]. I can’t wait to see what we create together.
